Update on db camp
by Ruben on Feb.23, 2005, under Archive
This is a blast! Went to South Beach yesterday and enjoyed all the sights.
Today we did 8km on the water, and another 1.7 of warmup, so almost 10km at a decent pace.
Still not feeling too old and creaky, I suspect the pain will set in when the beer wears off.
Miami Blog

I’m in MIami at dragonboat camp. So far, the weather is great, the hotel is ok,
and we made our first forays out onto the water this morning.
Of course I fell/was pushed and landed right in the water as we were launching the boat.
Figures. I seem to have a propensity for falling into bodies of water.
Met Patti last week for dinner in NYC. It was great to meet again after 17 years.
More when this internet cafe thing gives me time.
End of vacation
by Ruben on Aug.06, 2004, under Archive
I’ve been on vacation for the past couple of weeks. I’ve intentionally kept away from my blog to allow myself some time to deal with Caroline’s death.
Since then, I’ve been in the Montreal Dragon Boat Festival where we placed about middle of the pack.
So now, I’ll be digging up my key-cards and dusting off the laptop to head back to work on Monday.

Lovely weather for dragonboat practice
by Ruben on Jun.01, 2004, under Archive
Tonight’s practice was marked by lots of rain and the occasional thunderclap.
Oddly enough, this was one of our best attended practices ever.
It felt oh, I guess virtuous to be out there on the water in defiance of nature.
Kinda like biking to and from work in this slop.
