Caroline just got news last week that she qualified for a different chemotherapy approach not usually available here.

Then she got the results of some tests that show her blood numbers are great.

Unfortunately, she got x-ray results that were devastating. Apparently every vertebrae is broken, and she is at risk of paralysis.

So, the upside is that she may actually be getting better, but the downside is that her body may not be able to support her if she does.

It’s a heart-wrenching decision to have to make, and I don’t know if she will pursue treatment given her overall prognosis.

It’s so unfair. To have hope given to you and then yanked away must be unbearable. All I can do is bear witness to it.

sigh.

Tonight’s practice was marked by lots of rain and the occasional thunderclap.

Oddly enough, this was one of our best attended practices ever.

It felt oh, I guess virtuous to be out there on the water in defiance of nature.

Kinda like biking to and from work in this slop.
