Back in Buenos Aires after 38 years.
Stilll acclimating to the weather, definitely enjoying the food.
We are staying with family, so we live like they do; supper at 10pm conversation until the wee hours of the morning.
Afternoons are for napping (la siesta).
I came here looking to retrace the steps of my childhood, and I have definitely been doing that. It is absolutely amazing to see where I used to live, and to meet people who last saw me as a four year old. They know me, I am just getting to put names to faces.
Warmest, most friendly and generous people I have ever met.
Travel usualy has a certain element of surprise. In my case, the first surprise was that our luggage was opened, tossed for valuables, and arrived somewhat lighter than when we left.
My guess is this happened either in Montreal, or during our stop in Chile.
Either way, the Air Canada staff have been helpful and are trying to make things right.
This has been a very emotional trip for me so far, and it is certainly giving me a better sense of where I came from.
