and back into use.
The days are getting warmer and sunnier and I am itching to get back on the road.
This year, I will take pictures along the way. If I get anything interesting, I’ll post it.
Judge in Schiavo case tossed out of his congregation – Another victory for Christian values?

This morning’s news brings the following nugget:
(From The Buffalo News http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20050327/1069325.asp)
…
Last week, he parted ways with his Southern Baptist church, which had advocated keeping Terri Schiavo alive, after his pastor suggested he leave.
“You must know that in all likelihood it is this case which will define your career and this case that you will remember in the waning days of life,” the Rev. William Rice, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, wrote to Greer in a letter that later became public. “I hope you can find a way to side with the angels and become an answer to the prayers of thousands.”
me: I am appalled at the pastor’s behavior. Ironically, I think the pastor’s actions will leave a bigger mark in the waning days of his life. I also note the concept of a forgiving God has gone out the window.
Judge Greer has shown tremendous integrity and determination to uphold the law, something that seems to have escaped all the politicians involved in this tragic issue.
More Schiavo Craziness

From St Petersburg Times: http://www.sptimes.com/2005/03/26/Tampabay/Schiavo__Same_judges_.shtml
Here are a few choice quotes from the above article:
” The FBI arrested Richard Alan Meywes in Fairview, N.C., on charges that he allegedly promised a $250,000 bounty for Michael Schiavo’s death and $50,000 for the elimination of Judge Greer.”
me: Nice to see this guy values the right to life.
“In Tallahassee, a group of about 25 protesters stood outside the Governor’s Mansion despite a persistent rainstorm. They urged Gov. Bush to take custody of Schiavo – with force, if necessary. ”
me: Again, hypocrisy reigns. “..with force – if necessary” – couldn’t that actually lead to more deaths?
I guess the message in this case is that not all life is important, just whatever is in the eye of the media at the moment.
These are the “good intentions” that are clearly paving the road to hell.

Bad news today.
Katie called with news that her (soon to be) father-in-law unexpectedly died last night.
We are all very sad.
